The angel cries
The infant smiles
This dream, a nightmare folds
The air is still, has lost it’s will
as concrete pours into a mold
The marble faces stare upon a perpetual sky
The simple chatter of birds is unheard
Silent screams and perfect green, no signs of disarray
Plaster hides the stages of decay
Another day in a perfect garden
It’s caretakers not to be seen
Nothing is left to circumstance
As time will gaze upon these stoney faces
Simple, silent and serene
This perfect playground a prison to the mind
The marble faces stare upon a perpetual sky
The simple chatter of birds is unheard
Silent screams and perfect green, no signs of disarray
Plaster hides the stages of decay
Another day in a perfect garden
It’s caretakers not to be seen
As time will gaze upon these stoney faces
Simple, silent and serene
The angel cries
The infant smiles
As we hold
The air is still, has lost it's will as concrete pours forever
into this dream were we are as this, this is the end

Wasted kids in stranger days
Drug crazed animals leading a broken home parade
So many left and fell by the wayside
Others held on to their dreams and stayed alive
I sing of these days
The brightest of my life
I’m blessed to have seen
Crosses candles and smiles
Adulthood came crashing hard
Safe places so far gone, youth quickly dissipating
Nothing left but memories as we stride on, standing tall
We are the once were kids
Your future is our fall
I still long for familiar places with all those familiar faces
I’m passing on the torch of youth, I have nothing more to prove!
I sing of these days
The brightest of my life
I’m blessed to have seen
Crosses candles and smiles

Denying whom we love
There is no greater pain
Has fear of repercussion ever led us to a gain?
Men and women shamed
For matters of the heart
How can a concept as binding as love keep us apart?
Rejection, confusion
Repression fueled by ignorance
Stand strong, stand proud
No shame in same sex marriage
feelings of love and freedom
greeted by aggression and hate
Our children are the ones who pay the price
Imagine it’s your kin
Suffering afar
Ridiculed and ostracized for being who they are
Septembers lessons taught
The blood of innocence
Empty beds in empty rooms, when will the grieving end?
Compassion, inclusion
Another way to look at things
We are all human beings!
Fight side by side, my brothers
Our pride will guide us through and through
Take my hand, then I’ll take your hand too
Love thy neighbor as thyself
Never lose the faith
Love will overcome
Bigotry and ignorance have never won
Remember who you are
Nothing’s wrong with you
They’re never able to tell you who’s love that you should choose

Dear Natasha

Natasha is the name that takes your pride
the noose around your neck,
the ball and chain around your soul
and it haunts me
to think that innocence is lost
on (something) as trivial as lust
And as we look inside ourselves
why can’t we see?
I feel so sorry for your trials
and for the thousand times you’ve died
I’m hoping that someday we’ll see we are all part of the same dream
before you wish for it all just to end
If only they would look inside of you
The thoughts that you possess, the emotions hide themselves
Yet every day it’s still the same abuse that you have to face but you’re trying
I feel so sorry for your trials
and for the thousand times you’ve died
I’m hoping that someday we’ll see we are all part of the same dream
before you wish for it all just to end
I believe that it’s come to this
because we planted the seed of abuse
It feeds inside of you
Now we have to face that she’s dying
Feeling it’s a lie
we move to separate
ourselves from the filth that’s in our own reflection
Because it’s up to you
and it’s up to me; the innocence that we lack must not harm her
I feel so sorry for your trials
and for the thousand times you’ve died
I’m hoping that someday we’ll see we are all part of the same dream
before you wish for it all just to end
